Church Ministries

Brotherhood Department
The Brotherhood Department consists of all the males in the church including the Ministers, Deacons and brothers. The Brotherhood’s main purpose is to provide a place/position in the ministry for all men at One Way to contribute to the work of the ministry.  Our Brotherhood supports the mission and vision of the pastor and the church, and to assist in the evangelistic activities of the ministry.

Christian Education
Our Christian Education plays an essential role in our church ministry.  Our Sunday School ministry offers classes for preschoolers to adults. Each class provides spiritual enrichment and are conducted every Sunday morning.  Sunday School attendance is highly recommended and also provides a great opportunity to learn more about the word of God in a small group environment, and student questions can be addressed and answered. Sunday School provides a unique opportunity for everyone to learn, in depth, what it means to become a follower of Christ. It's in the Sunday School setting that we have the opportunity to show and share our love for the Lord. Knowing that others have faced similar problems and that they have found the answers in the Bible and in Jesus Christ, is an important part of Sunday School. Deacon Terrience D. Selmon is our Sunday School Superintendant.

Missionary Department
The Missionary Department is a group of women who have a special call on their lives. They are assigned leadership roles in the ministry and are willing to assist in any capacity in the service of Our Lord Jesus Christ.  Our Missionaries, visit hospitals, convalescent homes, and the sick and shut-in, assist and initiate evangelistic outreach efforts to the community.  Sister Jackquetta Landing is our presiding Missionary Department President.

Music Department Sis Bonita Selmon is our Choir President

Women’s Council
The Women’s Council is an auxiliary group formed and uniquely designed to minister to the needs of all women in the church. There are no special requirements to serve in this ministry, all the women of One Way are included in the Women’s Council. Their activities include visiting homeless shelters, children’s hospitals, convalescent homes, and assisting in the evangelistic outreach efforts of our church to the community.

Youth Department (Armor Bearer Young Peoples’ Union)
The Youth Department consists of all ages of youth and is designed to prepare, train, & educate our young people with spiritual knowledge at their level of understanding.

The purpose of the Armor Bearers Young People's Union is to develop and train our youth for leadership in the Kingdom of God by promoting the spiritual growth and heighten devotion of children, youth, and young adults between the ages of 5-35.

Service Ministries

An usher is equipped for his or her ministry by the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The ushers are responsible for effectively seating individuals during church service with minimal interruption. They assist with the distribution of literature within the sanctuary in a timely manner. They work closely with the deacons to create a uniform process of taking up tithes and offerings. They greet worshippers with a smile…so they will come again and worship with us.
Psalms 84:10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Pastor’s Aide
The Pastor’s Aide is a group consisting of church membership assembled with the unique purpose of serving the needs of the Pastor and his family.  There are no special requirements to serve in this important ministry, dedicated to ministering to the Minister. There is great reward and favor to those who chose to allow the Lord to use them in this capacity.
The Bible says, “He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward”,  Matthew 10:40-42.

The Audio/Visual Ministry
The Audio/Visual Ministry is charged with the responsibility of "getting the word (of God) out." During worship services, this includes: calibrating the sound system, setting up microphones, and recording the service on audio and video. When each service ends, the Audio/Visual ministry shifts into post-production mode. Post-production activities include: editing audio and video recordings, duplicating recordings, converting recordings for posting to the web, transcribing recordings for forthcoming print publications, and facilitating CD/DVD sales.

Outreach Ministries
Through its Evangelistic Outreach and Sick & Shut-In Visitation Programs, the Outreach Ministries reach and minister to people through prayer and fellowship outside the church edifice. By bringing the Gospel to those whom may not otherwise seek it, the Outreach Ministries provide an opportunity to surrender their lives to Christ.

Outreach of Love:Food Program
This is an Outreach program where we reach out to our community while providing a free lunch every 2nd Saturday of the month.
